A practical & informative 2-hour workshop in which participants will learn to identify medicinal, bio-regional herbs, harvest them, and then make a healing herbal elixir, or an oxymel, to take home. An oxymel is an ancient but simple medicinal preparation which uses vinegar as an acid (oxy) and honey (mel), in combination to extract the medicinal properties from herbs. This session will include an herb walk/farm tour, basic botany, best harvesting methods, a lesson on the medicinal uses of the herbs we encounter, and instruction as well as hands-on experience making herbal medicine. Everyone takes home their own oxymel!
